Dr Howard Holmes is a proud Western Australian and a passionate orthodontist.

In 1993 he earned his Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Western Australia and was dux of his graduating year. After four years in private general dental practice, Howard was accepted into the highly competitive Orthodontic Post-Graduate program at the University of Western Australia, completing his specialist training in 2000. Howard continues to maintain professional links with the University's training program and currently holds an appointment as Clinical Senior Lecturer at UWA’s School of Dentistry.

Howard is an active member of numerous professional organisations including The Australian Dental Association, The Australian Society of Orthodontists, The World Federation of Orthodontists and the Dental Study Group of Western Australia. He is a Registered Orthodontic Specialist with the Dental Board of Western Australia and has achieved Australian Orthodontic Board Certification. Howard is also an Invisalign® accredited Orthodontist. Howard has earned numerous academic and clinical awards including the prestigious Elsdon Storey First Research Prize for the Orthodontic Research Excellence by The Australian Society of Orthodontists.

Howard is committed to continuing education in orthodontics, dentistry and business management. He regularly attends national and international conferences as both a delegate and a speaker and is the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the 23rd Australian Orthodontic Congress (AOC) to be held in Perth in 2012.

As well as running a busy full-time practice at the Carousel Orthodontic Centre, Howard also works for 3 days every month at our country branch practice in Margaret River. Working in the beautiful South West of WA on regular basis gives Howard the opportunity to indulge in his other passions - surfing and wine appreciation. Howard is also a keen cricketer and golfer, a West Coast Eagles fan and a lapsed musician.
